The contractor was facing a tight schedule to get the concrete placed before the harsh Canadian winter weather arrived. The use of Fibermesh® 650 synthetic macro-fibers as an alternate to traditional reinforcement saved much needed time on the construction schedule.The walls and floor of the ash pond are 9″ thick utilizing Fibermesh 650 at 1.8 kg’s per meter for reinforcement. Because it is synthetic, the Fibermesh 650 is ideal reinforcement in the corrosive environment of the ash pond.
